Nothing more Catholic than asking the pope to be… The Pope!

From a recent and very well presented Filial Appeal to His Holiness Pope Francis:

…we see widespread confusion arising from the possibility that a breach has been opened within the Church that would accept adultery—by permitting divorced and then civilly remarried Catholics to receive Holy Communion—and would virtually accept even homosexual unions when such practices are categorically condemned as being contrary to Divine and natural law.

Paradoxically, our hope stems from this confusion.

Truly, in these circumstances, a word from Your Holiness is the only way to clarify the growing confusion amongst the faithful.

    Well… I signed.

  2. You won’t hear me faulting you. He loves hearing from the people. Let’s waft up some of that smell of the sheep. 😉

  3. William Peirson says:

    Were I to respond to this while still pushing my “agenda,” as it were, I would recite the words of Jesus in the Gospel, because they are as clear as a bell, but continue to have my-side-of-the-aisle Bishops spread word about “modern” nuance and keep pushing for free annulment processes, because that would strain so many Parishes that tried to faithfully keep the “old” practices. “Of course this, but first mercy!” as it were.

    If I were truly to listen to my flock, I would delay the second Synod for at least another year, because with the ISIS violence and destabilization of the world, now is not the time for cheap arguments. In truth, I would cancel it completely, because the timeless Truth of the Church is worth more than my legacy.

  4. Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church

    What is the attitude of the Church toward those people who are divorced and then remarried?

    1650-1651
    1665

    The Church, since she is faithful to her Lord, cannot recognize the union of people who are civilly divorced and remarried. “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery against her; and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery” (Mark 10:11-12). The Church manifests an attentive solicitude toward such people and encourages them to a life of faith, prayer, works of charity and the Christian education of their children. However, they cannot receive sacramental absolution, take Holy Communion, or exercise certain ecclesial responsibilities as long as their situation, which objectively contravenes God’s law, persists.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    But, thanks to the heretic Kaper’s theological kneeling, the synod will impose mercy on those who actually believed the still existing teaching…

    O, and heads-up the rest of you ; YOU must accept V2

Be kind, be (relatively) brief, be clear...
