Breathe it in 2.0 …

The title refers to my earlier discussion of Cdl. Sean “Gang of Eight” O’Malley’s ecumaniacal display in a Methodist chapel (followed up in greater depth in this post). A few months later we were graced with a much saner display from O’Malley, insofar as he protested (in strikingly anti-ecumenical fashion) the attempted Black Mass at Harvard (though, sadly, he himself was not able to participate in the Eucharistic procession and Holy Hour).

More recently, however, we see the Barque listing back to ecumaniacal inanity with the help of a timeless pseudo-event gesture by none other than Pope Francis.

I must say that it seems a bit heartless of the Holy Father not to have asked Welby to do his blessing thing over the Muslim clerics in the Vatican Gardens, too.

I find his lack of complete indifferentism…disturbing.

But at least he’s ecumaniacally consistent.

Disturbing indeed!! It was completely unnecessary. You had a chat with him and tolerated the women “priests” he brought with him. Why do you have to go and ask him for a blessing!!?!??!

Sigh, this is where I feel like Pope Francis is acting like my misinformed parish priest or some of the local Bishops. They would act similar to this way and claim that Vatican II actually declared that we are all fine in whichever religion we are in at the moment (kind of like the all roads lead to heaven mantra). But Pope Francis should know better. When he starts acting the same, obviously my parish priest or Bishop is not going to think they were wrong. If anything, they just get confirmation because that is what the successor of Peter is doing in Rome!! 😦

  2. Read it in Creative Minority Report comments section a while back,

“All things to everyone, except Catholic to Catholics.”

  3. From the Barque of Peter to the Farce of Francis, there is aught but continuity; and Pope Francis is merely following in the footsteps on his predecessors going all the way back to !962-1965 BCE (Bestest Council Ever(.

    Here are a few excerpts from Vatican 1. Read the true, the good, and the beautiful truth and then contrast it with the farce we are expected to genuflect before;

Therefore we define that every assertion contrary to the truth of enlightened faith is totally false [34] .
Furthermore the church which, together with its apostolic office of teaching, has received the charge of preserving the deposit of faith has by divine appointment the right and duty of condemning what wrongly passes for knowledge, lest anyone be led astray by philosophy and empty deceit [35] .

On the power and character of the primacy of the Roman pontiff
And so,supported by the clear witness of holy scripture, and adhering to the manifest and explicit decrees both of our predecessors the Roman pontiffs and of general councils, we promulgate anew the definition of the ecumenical council of Florence [49] , which must be believed by all faithful Christians, namely that the apostolic see and the Roman pontiff hold a world-wide primacy, and that
the Roman pontiff is the successor of blessed Peter, the prince of the apostles, true vicar of Christ,
head of the whole church and father and teacher of all christian people.
To him, in blessed Peter, full power has been given by our lord Jesus Christ to
tend, rule and govern the universal church. All this is to be found in the acts of the ecumenical councils and the sacred canons. Wherefore we teach and declare that,
by divine ordinance, the Roman church possesses a pre-eminence of ordinary power over every other church, and tha this jurisdictional power of the Roman pontiff is both episcopal and
Both clergy and faithful, of whatever rite and dignity both singly and collectively,
are bound to submit to this power by the duty of hierarchical subordination and true obedience, and this not only in matters concerning faith and morals,
but also in those which regard the discipline and government of the church throughout the world.

In this way, by unity with the Roman pontiff in communion and in profession of the same faith , the church of Christ becomes one flock under one supreme shepherd [50] .

Since the Roman pontiff, by the divine right of the apostolic primacy, governs the whole church, we likewise teach and declare that he is the supreme judge of the faithful

The Roman pontiff is the true vicar of Christ, the head of the whole church and the father and teacher of all Christians; and to him was committed in blessed Peter, by our lord Jesus Christ, the full power of tending, ruling and governing the whole church.” [58]

For the holy Spirit was promised to the successors of Peter not so that they might, by his revelation, make known some new doctrine, but that, by his assistance, they might religiously guard and faithfully expound the revelation or deposit of faith transmitted by the apostles.

his gift of truth and never-failing faith was therefore divinely conferred on Peter and his successors in this see so that they might discharge their exalted office for the salvation of all, and so that the whole flock of Christ might be kept away by them from the poisonous food of error and be nourished with the sustenance of heavenly doctrine…

It is funny, in a sick sort of way, to read what our Popes have as their duties and then to see the many manifest ways they have slough-off these duties since 1962 BCE.

It is all a sick farce; it really is; it is sickening and disgusting and all of these photos of our popes bowing and scraping before the acolytes of false faiths is an absolute delight for Satan and his minions while it scandalises the flummoxed faithful.

Every once in a while the truth pierces the fog of farce and one is riven with anger and disgust.

  4. Bill Russell says:

Precedent: re previous Archlaymen of Canterbury – Paul VI gave Arthur Michael Ramsey an episcopal ring and John Paul II gave Rowan Williams a pectoral cross. How could anyone not interpret this as some sort of validation of Orders?

  5. LWC says:

I’m given to understand Avignon may be willing to renew the lease. You’ll be delighted to know you’d be within 100 miles of the finest gold, ermine, silk, and precious gems indulgences can buy.

  6. paul says:

def: the invoking of God’s favor upon a person: The son was denied his father’s blessing. If you did not have your eyes, oops, HEART closed you would see as the definition states, asking God’s favor upon a person. Would you turn down a blessing from someone who in effect is praying for you?
    I pray for your types

  7. paul: While you’re praying, be sure to thank God that you are not like other men (“your types”). The hypocrisy of the broad-minded is breathtaking.

  8. William says:

Diabolical Disorientation in out time. Lord Protect Your Bride from all enemies seen and unseen, from within and from without. Amen

  9. lwc you ain’t all that at table talk. You are wrong in that an Indulgence does not buy an object; that is,you got your ignorant insult ass backwards

  10. Don’t mind LWC. He’s just a troll.

Be kind, be (relatively) brief, be clear...
