…when you’ve got a host of in-your-face clownish masses?
Just take the recent bonanza of liturgical excess in–where else?–Los(t) Angeles? As if right on cue, the smallness of a mind matched only by the bigness of its mouth would have us believe that, because clown masses are not evident on every corner, there is no liturgical problem whatsoever. This is, to dispense with the pathetically predictable wrath of Godwin’s Law, like saying that, because Hitler is dead, therefore National Socialism is no longer a problem.
As hard as it may be to admit, videos like this do make a serious point. We simply must stop shucking and jiving in the precincts of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Forget the world: God is watching. If you think it is just an “aesthetic” bias to prefer seriousness, silence, and sanctity in the greatest prayer of the Church (cf. CS §7), then you have no coherent basis for understanding how a mere bias can be banned in an entire country–unless it is, after all, the rankest, yet camouflaged, “ideology” at work. (Just ask the FFI.)
Meanwhile, setting up false (because anti-Catholic) dichotomies between the Liturgy and the Faith only soils oneself in the process of soiling Holy Mother Church.
