Humina, humina…

Rinky-dink mumbo-jumbo.

Hocus-pocus argle-bargle.

Any other doozies?

Was this supposed to have a link?

  2. No. I’m a language teacher and a wordsmith. This was purely a geek post. I died with laughter when I saw the word “argle-bargle” and I wanted it to be on my blog somewhere. The source of the term is found in the inimitable Ralph Roister-Doister’s comment in this thread: 🙂

  3. Flambeaux says:

    There’s the related “argy-bargy”.
I’m fond of “oopsie-doopsie” and the distant cousin “upsie-daisy”.

Not sure it that’s in the right vein. But I, too, love playing language games and some of my kids are getting old enough to join in. 😀

Be kind, be (relatively) brief, be clear...
